Eagle Yurt: Features
Wall Height. Our lattice system for all of our yurts is configured for a wall height of 7'4"
Warranties. 10 years on the standard 19 oz. roof; 15 years on the 28 oz. roof.
Wind and Snow Load. Competitor's yurts require
additional structural changes for wind and snow loads. Rainier's
wind and snow load system is a standard, integral part of the Eagle.
Because our lattice, rafters, compression ring and covers are superior,
our yurts can withstand winds of 100 MPH and snow loads up to 280
lbs/sq ft.

Lattice System. Crafted with clear, mixed grain, kiln dried, hand sanded and oil treated, our lattice is made of the finest æî by 1-1/2" northwest Douglas Fir.
Compression Ring. Made of hand-selected northwest Douglas Fir, it is finished in the original Eagle craftsmanís style. The ring pieces are laminated together in five layers to create an extremely strong, engineered ring.
Rafters. Clear, hand-selected, mixed grain northwest kiln dried Douglas Fir. Rafters are sanded and oiled to take the greatest advantage of the warm, natural beauty of the wood.
Door Frame. The standard door frame is made of clear, vertical grained Douglas fir, kiln dried, with an original Eagle Yurt craftsmanís style and finish.
Door. The standard door comes with a natural finish and shatterproof thermal glass when it is ordered with window panes. The doors include a full, residential-style lock set which can be upgraded to a commercial lock.
Tension Cable. Our tension cable is 1/4" aircraft steel with yachting grade fittings. The cable is pre-stretched and load tested. Our cable is designed to hold 8,000 lbs.
Dome. Clear or tinted formed Plexiglass.
Roof Outer Membrane. Our standard roof fabric is 19 oz. beige vinyl coated polyester with an acrylic top coat. It carries a warranty of 10 years. If you choose to upgrade, the fabric will be beige, structural grade, 28 oz. vinyl coated polyester with an acrylic top coat that carries a warranty of 15 years. We cut the fabric, taking advantage of the fabricís strongest grain. The triangular-shaped pieces are then matched and heat sealed together to insure complete water repellency.
Roof and Wall Insulation. We use R-10 rated insulation.
Roof and Wall Interior Liner. 12 oz. natural color cotton Army Duck, which is treated to be water repellent, is used to line the interior roof of your yurt.
Roof Cinching System. Yacht grade, non-stretch Kevlar cable with a cam-lock cinch.
Wall Attachment to Roof. The Eagle wall tucks up between a double layer baffle that seals out weather. Our exclusive jub hanks provide for easy installation, better tensioning and good looks.
Wall Panels. The Eagle model yurt features our unique, interchangeable wall panels. The number of wall panels in your yurt varies according to its size. (Other yurts are wrapped with one continuous piece of fabric.) You may decide exactly where youíd like to put your windows — or you can change them with the seasons to take advantage of solar gain. Panels attach to each other with large, marine-grade zippers and heavy Velcro flaps which are not visible from the outside. The wall panels make Eagle model yurts easier to put up, and easier to repair if one section is damaged. Eagle model wall panels are also two-toned: choose one color for the upper wall, a 50/50 cotton/polyester with acrylic top coat and another color for the lower wall, made of vinyl laminated polyester. View the Eagle Yurt Coloring Tool.
Wall Cinch Under the Decking. Jib hanks twist and lock to a stainless steel cable, tucked underneath the platform.
Window. Your Eagle model yurt comes with standard, .030" Super Clear flexible vinyl windows; the number of windows depends on the size of your yurt. Windows open on the outside with zippers and Velcro. Standard Eagle model windows are full-length, opening windows with screens and flaps. You may also choose half, full-length or double picture non-opening windows. Half and full-length window panels with screen and flap are also available.
D-Windows. We call our hard windows "D-Windows"
because they are thermal pane glass windows, fit into a door frame.
You may choose from among two sizes, single hung and lower 1/3 awning
windows.
